As your forum admin, I would like to take the time to introduce myself. My name is Steve. I live in Northern Illinois. I have been building my own lures, off and on, for about 25 years. I primarily fish for musky, therefore, most of my lures consist of musky baits. All of my hardbaits are constructed from wood, with the exception of my bucktails, of course. Please enjoy this forum. I think this is a great opportunity for sharing of info and tips on lurebuilding.

Hi! I'm Gerry and am 73 years old and maker of the Gerry Girls bucktails. I've been tying flies, and making bucktails for many, many years. I made my first fly and caught a Northern Pike on it when I was 8 yrs. old. This is my hobby and not a business. I'm retired and love to make baits. For the last decade I've concentrated mainly on making Musky baits.

Hello,
My name is Michael Jones. I am 52 years of age, don't fish nearly enough, and I am looking to build some models of discontinued lures.
Some day I hope to get to a lake and catch some bowfin with my oldest son.

I noticed our Forum Administrator is from Northern Illinois...although I was born in Nebraska and currently live there, I grew up in Machesney Park, just north of Rockford.
Where are you, Lurebatory Administrator???

Hello everyone, my name is Stevign. I have been fishing almost all of my life but mainly lake fishing for bass etc. while growing up in Indiana. About 2 years ago I started river fishing for the 1st time. I live in Washington State now, fish the Skagit River and mostly catch Dolly Varden trout and Steelhead. I "hope" to start catching salmon as well this summer when the Humpies season comes around.
I am definitely interested in making my own lures and Steelhead flies.

Hi , there , ....just came across accidentally and though that I should sign in . My name is Dieter , I'm located in northern Germany and I'm an enthusiastic hobby lure carver since more than 20 years now , I guess . Making spoons , spinners and all kinds of timber or PVC hardfoam hardbaits to cast at local pike , perch , asp , and zander(European walleye), ......not the best paintjobs on my lures , though(painting by handbrush) , but I like the technical aspects of different kinds of lures , ....also like making versions of longtime gone vintage models .
